Check to see if it has a copyright notice in the film. Per Video-Cellar: copyright could be forfeited if published without notice provided steps were not taken to rectify the omission within 5 years from publication (this could include including notices in later editions or registration.).

Alright, I just checked, and I didn't see a copyright notice in the beginning or end credits. What's the next step?

Is your copy newer than 1985 (5 years after release)? If it is a later edition, then it's PD.

alright. (I was logged into the wrong account earlier...) as far as I know my copy is newer than 1985 but I'm not 100% sure. I'm in the proccess of acquiring another copy that I'm sure is newer than 1985 and I'll see if there is any copyright notice in the credits.
If there isn't I'll go ahead and upload it.
Thanks.
